DIY #2

And, it's another t-shirt. I know, I know.. never mind. I have several ideas, so I am experimenting.

Here I used lace, a plain t-shirt and some hem-it (brilliant stuff btw).

I wanted the design to be on my lower back, and did not want it to show the back of my bra. So I used two pins to delimit the bra area.

With a pen I drew the desired design (here, it's a bird > Not a weird hand as I've been told!). Then I cut it with very small scissors to be more precise.
** Sorry for the color of the picture, I was in a room with only artificial lights. **

DIY with a cuppa tea ♥

Then, turn your tshirt inside out and put some Hem-it all around the design. Now I can see what I have done wrong, and I know what to perfect for the next tshirt :-). Once the Hem-it is placed, cover with a piece of lace. Adjust the size of the piece you want, to not waste lace (it's an expensive fabric !).
Once the lace is where you want it to be, iron it with a damp cloth between the flatiron and the lace. Press for 6 to 8 seconds all the way thru.

 TADAM ! I didn't have the time to take a picture of me wearing the teesh yet, it'll come soon, I promise. But you'll get an idea with this picture:

It was quick enough; it makes a cute tshirt. Now, it is not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with the result, I have to say. For a first go, it isn't too bad !

Clonmel, Co. Tiperrary

Two weeks ago (Feb 15/16) , I went to Clonmel to visit a friend who is teaching French in a only-girl secondary school.
It was the opportunity to discover a new part of Ireland and catch up with Mab :-).
The weekend was a blast !

I was pretty tired after a long week at work, but it was very sunny on Saturday and the fresh air in my lungs felt really good ! We took it easy on Sunday and I got back to Dublin around 7 pm.

Clonmel is a quiet town in county Tipperary. Known for Saint Patrick's Well and, of course, for a very famous cider! Yay \o/ Bulmers is produced in Clonmel and on my way in, I saw a "small" brewery on the right.. Being an absolute fan of Bulmers, I was delighted ;-p

Recently, we got a lot of rain and wind. We had few storms, and a big part of the south was flooded. I noticed it straight away on my way to Clonmel.
I found myself thinking that the river was lovely and big, when suddenly I realized that there was a fence in the river ... Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it means it was actually not the river. The banks and many fields were flooded.

Anyways. I took picture for you guys. Let's have look :

For the first two pic, I was on the bus, which explains the poor quality.

Saint Patrick's Well on a Saturday afternoon

 It is said that the water is good for the lower part of your body (feet and legs). The upper can find another place to be cured, Na !

After the walk, we went back home, got changed and Mab's lovely housemate drove us into town. Mass, McDonald's and pub to meet few friends of hers.

DIY #1

There is something you have to know.. I love doing things by myself. There's something wonderful about creating stuff from scratch.
It's relaxing, and very enjoyable !

Last week, I felt like having new t-shirts, and different than what you can buy in a shop kind of t-shirt.
So on Saturday, I went to Dublin, straight to the sanctuary of any kind of sensible woman, I have named Penneys! 2.50€ for a t-shirt? I say YES! Run ladies ! (3 Primark opened in France by the way... ;))

Anyways, I had enough in my craft box to customise, I just needed inspiration.
I stroke me last night.

I made something very simple to start. Three buttons and some lace got me a cute teesh :-)

Cute Black T-Shirt

 What you need:

A T-shirt
scissors
needle and sewing thread
pins
buttons, lace, ribbon etc.



1) The shoulders

To help you sewing the lace straight, you can use pins to maintain it at the right place.
Sew the lace with  same-color sewing thread, into some very small stitches.

2) The buttons


Add three buttons, at equal distance from each other (measure with a seam measuring tape).
Sew them tidily to keep it clean and nice.

The Winter Olympics have started last week. I'm not following them, but I think this picture is very funny !

30" Dinner Rolls

Get ready for a mind-blowing recipe. Easy and delish man !

30 minutes, by my watch.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup warm water

- 1/3 cup oil (I used olive oil, much tastier)

- 2 tablespoons dry yeast

- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 egg

 - 3 1/2 cups flour

1/ Preheat the ovent at 250°.

2/ In a bowl, combine warm water, oil, yeast and sugar. Allow the mixture to rest for 15min.

3/ Mix 2 cups of flour, the salt and egg into the yeast mixture. (What I did is mixing with a knife. It was brilliant) Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups flour, half of a cup at a time.

4/ Shape the dough into balls, the size you want really. Allow them to rest for 10min.

5/ Bake for 10min

Keeping the same name, the old articles, but intending to be better, the blog is back !

I'm going to treat it like a diary, a travelling diary. This will explain the new font, cute isn't it?
I'll try to show you more of the gorgeous landscapes of Ireland and the places I will visit, tell you all about my DIY and (humble) cooking skills, and everything that might be interesting at the end of the day :)
